My Wife Told Me About It - DAN LABSIK’s Story
Customer service is a term that we often hear but don’t always experience as we should, especially in healthcare. Whether the provider is overworked, underpaid, or unskilled at helping, the end result is a patient who feels like Dan Labsik. “They didn’t care about you; they had no respect for you,” he states. In the end, this meant years of pain for Dan as well as last minute emergency dentistry – until his wife finally found the right place for them to go.

“My wife has been to this office. And she had a good experience with them, too,” says Dan. “I have not been to the dentist for eight years. I’ve always done everything at the last minute.”

Even walking in the front door with his wife at his side could not undo the fear and anxiety Dan experienced. “I walked into his office and needed dental work done. My wife was with me and said, ‘He’s kind of scared.’ And the first thing I looked at is the chair, and I said, ‘Oh, no.’ They guaranteed me that it would be ok. And they’re good. Very good. And with the sedation, that really helped.”

Sedation Dentistry was the answer for Dan’s fear. He took a pill the night before and one the morning of the appointment. When his wife drove him to the office, he was relaxed and comfortable. “With the sedation, it’s just unbelievable,” Dan says. He states that he was just fine after the sedation: “No pain, nothing. Nothing at all. It’s perfect.”

The care he received was not limited to just physical dental treatment, but a team approach that made him feel really cared for, “Right when I walked in the door – I’ve never been treated like that before. [They were] doing everything they could to make me comfortable. And I believe that for other patients, too; I’ve seen it. It’s a pleasure to go there.”

For Dan, a wife’s referral changed his perspective on dentistry. “Having the sedation for the dental work, I’ll never put off dental work again.” He now knows that there are caring professionals who go the extra mile to make a difficult situation relaxing and comfortable.
